Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / 300 6 Ford build?

I have been a v8 guy forever but I want to do something different (I guess)! I am building a FED which most know but I kinda want to do a 6 cyl. just to bracket race! I have a 300 short block but no head was told the 240 is better for compression but hard to find and aftermarket or billet is way out of question

These motors are real torquey and I just want a motor with less than 6000 rpm range. Any body here had any dealing with what I want to do Keep in mind BUDGET just want to be consistent!

Dan is a good friend of mine great mind very very smart and is a great chassis builder he was one of the first nitrous pro mods to go in the 3's in the 1/8 mile years back. It is sad this happened but he goes on like nothing happened when I go to his shop he is always working on something

I would be in a closet sulking wanting pity he is amazing I wish everybody could talk to him

My son works with Dan his name is on that list Josh Mackey!

Pat I love your car I have seen it on you tube my build was just gonna be a mild bracket race motor can't afford anything like you run BUT i would if I had the funds

I found a 240 head then they called me back and said it was cracked so I just about have given up on the 6 project! I have a 331 stroker I may use and I have a 289 also but I really wanted to give the inline a try

Maybe one day!!

Yea I shoulda worded that different does sound kinda bad about the dust

We have talked a lot hopefully the transition won't be to bad for her she's a tough ole gal

Her biggest fear is that they are gonna take all that she owns but we have already taken care of that (LEGALLY)

Thanks Chris good to be able to talk to people even if we have never met

I quit my job in October of 29 years to stay home with her but I can't give her the things she needs on a daily basis I am the only child and it has really had me tied down BUT I would do anything for my Mom xxxx she took care of me now's my turn

Luckily my shop is about 60 ft. from my house that helps but I'm bout broke can't but anything racing related right now done bout looked the FED finished

Maybe one day family first though!!!!

I had a 302 coupla years ago that wiped 3 cams before I found out what was wrong it was the same lobes every time

Found out that the lifter bores had a tiny scar and the lifters didn't spin very much got me a brake cyl. hone and fixed that problem that was one of the best motors I ever had won lotsa bracket races with it wish I had it back too!
