Thanks for all the input guys! Buying a complete car is probably the best, but its a big step for me since im not beeing able to have a real look at it first - and i take a big chance by sending a huge lot of dollars to someone i dont know....so...
A nice frame would sure be a good start for one like me :)
You seem to fit in there pretty nice Glenn.

What other options do i have then?
Im trying to keep this to a budget that works with family, and im not going TopFuel! ;)
I was very tight, without the suit. 19 inches, the current chassis is 23 inches and with the suit I'm just right

First qualifying run was a little slow, ran a 8.090, second run changed the lower pulley to put a little more air in (missing a 55tooth top pulley for my tune up) and went a little fast 7.985 with a .015 reaction time.

Did not see you, we are down next to the staging lanes close to the track. Have a great view of the track out the side of the MH

A softer (lower rpm) launch will make it easier to climb the ring gear.  You want to launch at 600 - 400 rpm under the converters stall speed.  And yes, it raise slicks air pressure @ 5 psi. increments until you start slipping the tire.  You really need somebody watching the car to help with that, shorter wheelie bar contact with pavement, less than 4 wrinkles of the slick at launch movement.  Those wrinkles are important clues also, they need to be in the lower front of the tire, and not behind axle centerline.

I will try to launch 600 - 400 rpm bellow the converter stall speed next time I'm on the track.
In what range will a "normal" tire pressure be? I know it will depend on a lots of things, but it would be good to just have an idea. I have been running around 10-12PSI before. Wouldn't the tire pressure be very high if I increase with 5PSI a couple of times until I get some tire speed?

Take a look, remember I am a low  HP dragster only running 8.00

GlennLever, what is the size of your tires? How much pressure do you run in them?

Sorry it took so long, rear tires are 31/12/15

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: "Starter" for a Blower
« on: February 11, 2013, 06:42:36 AM »
What is this under drive you talk off.    Man spin it I have cpl setups 48 to 64% over if you need the pulleys . ;D

This engine was not built to take that. It is the completely wrong set up. I was running 8.59 in the 1/4 last year and want to be able to run an 8.5 index this year.

By adding just a little boost it is a 101 class on running a blower and I should have enough to tune to that 8.5 index.

I'm not one of the big boys yet, but working on it.

Events / Think about posting your Event in the Calendar Here is HOW
« on: January 29, 2013, 12:00:44 PM »
To post in the Calender go to the top of the page. In the command line that starts with "Home" you will find the command "Calendar" click on that command and you will be guided through the process of entering an event on the calender.

If you post your event in the calendar, one of the options there is were to post the text.

If you select this board "Event" as the place to post your text, you get the best of both worlds, the event in the calendar and the text posted here.

Ladies and Gentleman

The roll of administrator is new to me and I would very much like to develop this board to fulfill your needs of a way to communicate and stay in touch with racers interested in the same topics as yourself.

Please feel free to communicate with me to accomplish that goal autoshop@rochester.rr.com .

Secondly we need to be aware that Spud Miller

and Keith Burgan

are funding this venture so if you can please patronize their businesses as away to say thank You, do so.

There are not may “Rules” that I would impose. However please no cussing, cussing just shows a lack of knowledge in the use of the English Language. You can express your feelings without cussing. Be respectful of other members. Everyone has a right to their opinions, and a right to do it differently than you might. No camping on. Think about making your userID something meaningfully or representative of what you stand for.

As a finial thought it would be nice if you were to introduce yourself in the Your Builds / Photo Gallery as I have done at this link http://www.frontenginedragsters.org/forum/index.php?topic=15.msg17#msg17
Thanks Glenn Lever
