What type of line or hose is best to use for my vacuum pump?  I do not like the line that came with my Moroso kit, I would like to use black line such as Jeg's 350 nylon braided line but didn't know if that was ok.  Can use standard stainless braided line but wanted to use black. Is rubber inner lining ok or do I need to use the hard plastic inner lining?

I am putting a Moroso 3 vane vacuum pump on my 336 SBC alcohol engine. Can anyone tell me about how many inches of vacuum I will want to pull?

We just got one of the Jeg's self adhesive pad oil pan heaters, it is 400watt.  Have any of you used these, and how long will it take to bring 8 quarts of oil up to temp?

Events / Awesome Day for Osceola Dragway
« on: October 21, 2019, 04:56:02 PM »
Today the Elkhart County Council voted to approve updates and a new road course at Osceola Dragway/Hoosier Motorsports Park. The track was purchased by Top Fuel driver Terry McMillen and a couple of investors, they have big plans for a new dragstrip and a all new road course.  Can't wait to see what happens.  Maybe someone with more info will chime in.

Maybe I should have been more specific,  this is a 225" Spitzer Rear Engine Dragster, hardtail. Does that change anything?

Lost and hoping to find / Nostalgia Top Fuel Owner
« on: October 13, 2019, 08:06:43 AM »
Met a man up at Osceola Dragway named Ben Ameling, that's probably not spelled write.  He sounded like a guy that's been around racing for a long time. He said he had a couple of front engine top fuel cars, looked for him at 131 Northern Nationals, but was told he was not there.  Does anyone here know him and possibly have contact info?     Thanks

Well the last race of the season was educational.  Won first round, went to second round, did burnout, backed up, staged, put thumb on button, took foot off brake and rolled thru the light.  Wire on back of button on steering wheel came off! I'll bet that will never happen to us again, lesson learned.
