So you just tip and go. Hmm what about all the biz about needing different barrel valve spool and stuff  'coz it burns at a different A-F ratio? Good to hear it works as is. Hmmm..

My current chassis is 8" wide at the axle attachment (tube axle welded direct to the frame rails) and the front track is 39" I would like to be this wide at least with any future set up. My steering box has 3/4 turn lock to lock. Therefore if my new chassis was a similar width my A arms would need to be 16" long. Maybe I'm better off with a tube axle? The bonus of the wishbone style front end is I can stuck stuff like battery weight box right up front. I'll message you my e-mail address.
Cheers

Howdy. I'm going to upgrade and build a new chassis for my car. Still looking to be short 150 -155" but going to have my engine further forward at about 40" out and going to give myself a little extra length behind the rear axle. Any body have photos of an A arm style front end for me to study. Any reason to not go down the A arm path on a short wheel base car. What sort of front track are you  A arm guys running?
Cheers

I get a little a little condensation so just pop off the filler caps and it evaporates off. So effectively none

Simplest system ever. One line in. One line back to the tank. Pill in the metering block. Away you go. Awsome throttle responce.

It will run cool on meth so the cooling system is surplus. Also very consistent even as temp changes. I saw a second hand Rons system offered for $800 the other day - don't kniw where maybe on For A Bodies only forum

To our American brothers. The Holden inline six dragster in Australia was like your junior fuel car. A guy could have a home built car and have good cheap and fun. It seems there were  hundreds of them in the nineteen sixties and early seventies.

Don't over think it. It will be fast with 400 or 425 hp. Ditch the cooling system and run meth. Will run okay on a low comp engine, is cheaper than race fuel, engine will run stacks cooler. Second hand stack injection or a new Meth carb. Personally I find any carbs too much dicking around. Keep it simple. Cheers

Mate going to sound crazy but go buy yourself some plastic model kits. Must be some guys at Hidden Valley tgat can help you. Also contact Danial Hodgins in Alice Springs. He ran a Holden FED before moving on to other things and has built several altered chassis for other guys.

Front Engine Dragsters / SWJFA
« on: March 16, 2018, 07:23:43 PM »
Howdy.
I was watching a heap of older SWJFA  roll cage mount Go-pro vids last night - man some of you SWJFA guys must pump some fuel at idle. Tons of header flames while staging. My car has a 80A pump and runs reasonably clean at idle and but with my laid back headers I still get a lung full of crappy air some times. SWJFA is just Methanol right? Got to say they do look great popping and banging away.

Gassers / Re: Strut suspensions

I asked because I was interested in buying a car here (Australia) that was home built in around 1974 and remains essentially unchanged which has had strut suspension since day one.

Howdy.
I've seen 33 Willies coupes with strut front suspensions. When did Struts first appear in race cars?

Front Engine Dragsters / Harness dates.
« on: October 26, 2017, 06:11:44 PM »
Howdy. Here is Australia my harness has 10 years from date of manufacture before it needs to be replaced. I have just purchased an RCI 5 point how ever they no longer have a DOM rather a 2 year expiration date (in this case Dec 2019). Any idea why they have made this change ? No clue on their web site.
