Title: 69 chevelle
Post by: noslin on April 01, 2017, 10:07:43 AM
buddy has a 69 (i think) chevelle that i been working on doing the tin work.  he's going to do put and LS in it with single turbo.  goal is to eventually set it up for running b/gas if possible.  its a budget build right now to get it running then adjust/change things later.

kind of funny, i had a chance to get the car years back and passed on it since i already was building another car and figured i could only devote resources / build one thing at a time.  well, i passed on it and now i find my self working on it haha.   its fun though, just enjoy something to do.

this is second time doing this, did the tin on my vw chassis car and it turned out good.  i have access to all brake, shear etc at work.  will get a better bead roller and own brake etc if i do another one.

doing the wheel tubs was interesting, made them at work as we have pittsburg machine.  they are in there, not sure if its right or not haha.. but they are in there.

will take it all otu and powder coat it all then reinstall.  the local sheet metal shop does not have plastic wrap on the aluminum so it gets little dinged up.

the challenging part for me is coming up with layout ideas. owner doesnt care what i do which makes it tough and part of reason why takes so long.  need the ole grey matter to churn up some ideas.

one thing is for sure, you think it takes 5 sheets.. well order 10 because your going to use em.

for the dash, i didnt roll anything in as no input.. so figured leave it smooth and let owner have gauge panel painted on it.   he is going to run a Motec efi and have dash on steering shaft.

i rolled a bow tie in the center between the tubs.  ill get better pic of it later.  need to weld a flange on the center pc where the tunnel will attach so it looks nice.

start of trying dream up something on the door panel.

My understanding is photobucket is charging about $400.00 a year for posting privledges for 3rd party hosting use.
That move wrecked a lot of good info out there......
