Piedmont. Thursday night test and tune. The track is only a 40 minute drive from my house.

Ran it last night at a test and tune. Finally got it into the 4's.( 1/8 mile) Granted only a 4.96 but I've been at 5.00 for the last two outings. Now it's time to start on a real race motor.

Tow Vehicles / Re: 1974 Chapparal trailer
« on: August 23, 2017, 10:24:14 AM »
I  currently have a 42 ' chaparral. Sold a 40' a couple of years ago. The axles and hubs are out of date. If one fails buy another complete axle assembly.  Can be rusty on the bottom of the pouches. That's where the water collects. The standard ball for these trailers was 3" see if it has been changed.  double check that your truck will have enough clearance over the back of the bed. As trucks have gotten newer the bed depths have gotten deeper. Keep a spare spring with you. Yes they are heavy, but they are still in use. Not like a lot of them made today. PM me for other questions.

It cost me roughly $23 a foot from the place in tenn. And I picked it up at autofair. Looks good but didn't add any speed to the car.

Got it certified for 7.50 Saturday.

Wanted to buy / Re: Parachute

Just a suggestion. If your chute or pilot chute get damaged. Look in  your area for a skydiving drop zone. Most of them have riggers. They can fix your chutes and pilots with better than new material. I usually have my pilot chutes repaired with heavy nylon/Kevlar material.

Most of the places that make boat covers can make a cover for you. Check around High Rock lake marinas.

If your running 7.20's at the valley just go to another track ,that should pick up a couple of tenths. I used to run 10.20's there on a motorcycle. I went to atco and englishtown and dropped into the 9.80's 9.90's without changing a thing. Unless lebanon valley has changed in ten to 15  years it was a slow track.
