Wanted to sell / Re: HILBORN FOR MOPAR WEDGE ENGINES

They could be yours!    The set is as Dave said, he sent a set of new hoses and I have not even opened  those.  I have decided to stay with the early hemi as I have everything for them.
We are off to Martin MI for the weekend so I may be slow to respond.

Soory Glenn, I also went to their site and glanced at the info. Those details like reading the entire description get me again.
on another thought, your builder now has a clean slate to make the best combo he can.

Hi Glenn, its been a long time since I posted. Always a quick check to see whats up.
Nice purchase on the block . It looks great. A quick look at the block specs show bore size 4.120 and up.  Maybe your pistons could work, unless the longer rods change things.
On a side note, snobusters swap in Hamburg is this weekend. It is more a social than anything for us. Nice to hear what got done over the winter.

Cool. I still miss my old truck. I got rid of it when nostalgia cars started running corporate BBC stuff.  Paint? it looks great as is!  Save the money and put it towards the next race.  I bet you get more lookers as is than with a shiny coat of paint.

Well that is timing! If you look at the willys is painted thread you can see what I was talking about. I would have killed for that trans though.

I am trying to remember what I did 20 years ago. Some of this may be wrong so PLEASE double check. I put a 392 in a 41 Willys before the nostalgia craze.  I used a 3/4 inch plate to space the tranny back and put the block dowel pins in it. The small block does mount closely but enough difference to cause head aches.  I thought there was too much run out with my limited fab skills. I then bought a Wilcap version that was also 3/4 inch but it adapted a chev pattern and they had crank flange spacers. I recall that was the one that was used. And yes,a scatershield was used but no, lenkos are out of the budget. Hope this helps, cool looking ride!
PS I think Hot heads may sell the Wilcap line now.

I have booked rooms for my wife and myself again this year. We stay at a Best Western usually, and most are great. California Street has a lot of hotels, a friend always stays there . lots of restaurants nearby and he usually has no reservations.
The weather has only been bad once, rained out a few years back.  the track has NO shade to speak of. some for the car show behind the stands but the trees are to short to help spectators. I usually wear shorts because to anyone from the east it is great weather.
I would say the fall hot rod reunion is more like Bowling Green. March Meet seems more like a race. maybe teams have new parts and enthusiasm?  A lot less nostalgic but still a great place to meet people I only read about as a kid.
The swap meets usually great. Last fall there were at least 3 Donovans and a ton of other stuff for sale. Bring cash because what you want will likely be there.

One more thing, the track is north of Bakersfield about 20 miles or so . A car is

I will be there!  I will look for you and anyone else I recognise.
I am still a spectator but am slowly picking up some pieces.  We book our holidays around these and I usually get a day or two to at a track.

I was at Bakersfield Friday and talked to both these guys. What I found interesting is American Rebel Wheels says they make the Real Rodder wheels for them. They are coming out with an exact copy of the small window Halibrand this spring.
Either way the choices are much better than a few years ago.

Roo Man's Room / Re: Roo Man aluminum welding question
« on: November 04, 2013, 07:07:04 PM »
We bought  a Henrob two years ago at the Metal Meet in Oblong . The salesman had my wife welding alum. better than I could.(she listened to his instructions ). I have used it to cut plate steel when the plasma fritzed. Welded cast iron  sheet metal and alum plate. I find it too bulky and heavy after a long while but it is a nice piece of equipment.   The most use it has had is for precise soldering of copper flowers my wife makes.  Like anything else, practise ,practise practise.
