been a long time coming , but i have been putting my dragster together over the past few weeks , i 1st started bending tubing on april 26th  i pick at it here and there not in a real hurry to get it done , but id like to hit the track maybe in july . who knows . when its done its done ! .... but i do have the majority of the stuff to get it done or atleast into a rolling chassis . since im usually busy with work i typically hoard alot of parts before i even start a project this way i dont need to wait to get parts but i think the big parts needed are transmission , center chunk , fire extinguishers , and a few little odd ball parts.....

  220" wheel base , kind pissed i cut the tubing short wanted to go 225 to keep my screen name correct , but the heck with it..... {i did have a 225" RED , and the owner before me had "digger" painted on the side of the car hence the 225digger}

heres some pics ..... any suggestions please let me know....and please remember im not a chassis builder , so dont beat me up to bad

Roo Man's Room / burn down tubes ?? about lower fram rails
« on: May 03, 2013, 05:39:02 PM »
i take it there is no rule for drilling the lower frame rails to add burn down hook ups in the lower rails ? im thinking about putting the puke tank out back instead of in the front . and just want to make sure i do it right when installing them into the rails ...... also , how is the inside of the tube blocked so oil doesnt go forward , and then in the back i guess this really isnt an issue since the rear tubes go up .

pics , advice , suggestions are highly appreciated ...

i had an ed quay  RED a few yrs ago , it had a striaght front axle that was mounted into some plates on the upper rail , and then it had 1/2 tubing going from the lower rail to the bottom of the axle , it was a real simple setup . so im thinking of some how mounting the axle in some plates but onto the lower rail , i guess its one of those things i wont know what im doing until its all in the jig and im laying pipe .

also , roo , curious im building to 2.2c specs ,  on the rear up rights ,  im going to go the 3/16th plate route , in the book it says it must wrap a 1/4 around the upper and lower frame , does this mean i need to wrap that 3/16th around the rails ?  i see alot of other designs where the plates just end at the upper and lower tubes and do not wrap around .  that part confuses the heck out of me .

im getting real close to starting to bend this thing up . i should have my floater next week from strange , already have everything else , i get some surgery in 2 weeks and need to be on light duty so im hoping the week that im off i can build the majority of this frame .
