Front Engine Dragsters / Wheelie Bar net
« on: January 19, 2020, 08:46:27 AM »
I need a "longer than commercially available" wheelie bar net in the triangle shape. I have reached out to two companies and both apparently do not want to make one. Has anyone here had one made? If so which company did the net? Thanks!

Electronics / Circuit Protection for a Winch
« on: April 23, 2019, 04:54:07 AM »
Just curious if anyone has a fuse for their Winch (Trailer)? I got a new Winch and it did not mention adding circuit protection for the device. They gave me everything to mount and wire the Winch but no fuses. Just seems strange to me that it would not have one. If it did have one what size fuse would it need to be? Not sure of the amperage used by a winch. Pulling an FED into the trailer does not take a lot but I struggle to push it in by myself. Thanks!

Front Engine Dragsters / storing the wheelie bar in the Trailer
« on: December 03, 2018, 05:24:22 AM »
Quick question, how are you storing your wheelie bars during transport in your trailer?  Making mounts in my trailer for a 6ft wheelie bar is proving to be difficult. I am looking for something simple but secure and lightweight. Thanks for your photos and suggestions!

Jon's Wheel House / Proper Slick storage
« on: August 13, 2018, 07:45:41 PM »
Jon, is it OK to store the car with the slicks on the ground for long periods of time (months, Winter etc)? What would be the best way to keep the tires in good condition and the car properly supported? thanks!

Front Engine Dragsters / FED front spindles
« on: March 22, 2018, 05:56:54 AM »
I want to  replace my front spindles and want some recommendations from all of you. What are you running or what would you like to be running for front spindles? No aluminum as I need the weight in the front so steel is preferred.
Thanks for your input!

Tow Vehicles / Tools kept in the tailer
« on: January 09, 2017, 11:12:07 AM »
Quick question for those of you who do not travel long distances to race or race at 2/3 days events far from home. "What tools do you take with you (or keep) in your trailer?"  Are they from your collection at your race shop (garage) or did you buy them special for the racing operation? What are the must have's and what are the least used of the tools you keep in your trailer? Thanks!

Front Engine Dragsters / ISP products or roll cage padding
« on: February 26, 2016, 05:37:56 PM »
Looking for input on this one. I am almost done re-assembling my car and I have waited until now to decide about which product to use.
Do I use the ISP roll cage protection or do I just use the simple roll cage padding and zip ties? I really do not like the look of the simple padding but it's light and easy to remove and install. The ISP stuff is trick and much slicker looking on the car but has its drawbacks (visibility and cost).  I realize the safety properties of both are not equal but are both adequate?
Help me make this call guys!

Front Engine Dragsters / Wide Band O2 tuning for an FED
« on: January 03, 2016, 12:50:25 PM »
Has anyone played with using a wide band O2 sensor and gauge to tune their 8 stack injector (on Alcohol)?  Knowing that most of these devices have data recording capabilities it seems plausible that using one could help tune all aspects of the fuel curve (idle to full throttle). All of you have tried most everything at least once ,what were your experiences with this? Thanks!

I've heard that mounting the poppet valves "hard" to the pump will allow vibrations to unseat the poppets and cause problems during a run. I've included a pic of what I currently have set up for my high speed and main. Should I change it to where they both are mounted by flexible lines?
This set up looks ok and was fairly easy to plumb but I will change it if there could be issues.

Your Builds / Photo Gallery / New Zoomies are done!
« on: September 21, 2015, 08:10:07 AM »
Got my new Zoomies today. Stahl pattern headers for B/ND class FED. Made from 2" tubes (steel) with 6" radius U bends and real Stahl mild steel (hot roll) flanges heavily modified. I will be using the Dynotech aluminum adapter plates to mount them to the heads.  Probably way overkill on the tube size considering the exhaust port size of the heads but they look fast! Nice job by Bill P. in Ottawa Ks making these. Covers too!
