« on: November 28, 2021, 02:24:30 AM »

Jon's Wheel House / Halibrand Wheels
« on: October 30, 2021, 03:13:43 AM »
What would a pair of Halibrand  8) wheels go for $$ these days
10.00 x 16.0 3.6 off
13.00 x 16.0 3.6 off

What tyres are available to fit these rims.
Currently running 32.0 x 14.0 - 15 but also 3.73 gear so looking at a lower gear.

Thanks

Drag Racing / Wierd Happenings
« on: March 07, 2020, 12:35:30 AM »
Last time out with the car we had one of those 1 in a million, will never happen again events.
Pulled the chute, it blossomed and then then engine shut down by itself? Check of the gauges and no light, meaning no power, hmmm that's odd. Check of the switches and they are all are on? Get stopped, get out and find that the emergency disconnect switch on the back has the key hanging off on the safety line. Pick it up to find it is broken in half. Obviously when the chute came out it hooked the key, switched it off and snapped it off. The broken piece was still in the switch.
What weird things have you had happen.

Front Engine Dragsters / Humidity & Water Grains
« on: February 01, 2020, 08:39:28 PM »
A little late I know but Happy New Year to everyone.
Looking for some guidance from our seasoned racers with regards to performance drop when the humidity and water grains are high. We did some testing yesterday and were way off our previous runs. Initially we tuned for the conditions but for the last pass everything was back to what we ran last time which is still very rich. So the 2 runs weather condition were
1. Temp 74.92 f, Humidity 25%, Uncorrected Barometric Pressure 30.04, Water Grains 32, Air Density with H2O 97% and Altitude 1074'
2. T 78.80, H 92%, UBP 29.80, WG 129, AD 94% and Alt 2230
Stack injected methanol 392 Hemi.
Thanks Neil

Front Engine Dragsters / My old Ride
« on: July 27, 2019, 05:29:28 PM »
This is my first serious race car in it various incarnations.
* How I purchased it - Yellow & White. The engine is a 186ci Holden Red, baby brother to the 262 chev
* Before I raced it we painted it Blue on Blue
* It was then done in Metal Flake Blue with Triple SU carbs
* Now fitted with fuel injection
* The engine was then changed to a 250ci crossflow Ford and the whole car stripped down, sandblasted and repainted in Ford Bronze & Gold. Fuel Injection off the Holden engine was used on this engine.
Sadly sold not long after but it is still active more than 25 years later.

Electronics / Camera

Just wondering what brand, resolution, lens angle camera you are using onboard. Will be back in the seat after a long layoff and thought I might get a camera, initially to critique my driving.
