Title: adding front suspenion

 Ok I have looked at a lot of RED's with front suspension and talked with owners. All think it is awesome. While it might be ok for them I am not in favor of the coil over shocks I have seen on some. Diamond makes one that has shock under body and front is a separate cradle in the chassis for lack of better wording. Thought about that deal but tank and battery become issue.

  Idea I am working on is bottom rail with a bolted pivot and upper tube is slip with either coil over on lever of springs inline with top tube inside. Would not be visable with full body on. Would allow some movement and take out some of the spring in chassis on ruff tracks and maybe some of topend bounce if getting off throttle too quick while driving the stripe.

Ideas pr cpmment even if they are you are nuts, heck been called that cpl thousand times already.

Three things.
1. The cars that are designed for front suspension have stiffer chassis and rely less on chassis flex to work. If you have both you may end up with a car that will not transfer weight good or ever settle in.
2. Front suspension would add weight to front of car. Which may or may not be a bad thing but it is part of the nature of the beast.
3. You would have to be very careful that as the suspension goes through the travel arc it does not bind or turn. Must be in same plane as the suspension or it could get ugly quick. If that thing turns left 1 inch as it goes up then when your car starts bouncing it will also start wanting to swap sides on you. Toe out any will be out of control but if it turns left a little in its travel you may crash hard.

only weight added would be two pivots. One or two small shocks If pivots are aligned with steering link pivot it should be no problem. On weight if it adds too much its just good reason to call Jon and buy a set of he wire wheels. between wheels and tires I can pull 14 lbs off. Agree if it move wheels it would be issue. I have jacked car up mid frame wit tp[ rai; slip loose(same location as shock) picked car up 3 inches before front wheel pulled, that with 50 lbs extra weight on nose. Wheel moved less than 1/4 inch
 that may or may not have been from flex. With slip locked it went about 3/4 i nch vefore front wheel showed any sign of movement.
