Wondering if anyone knows of good product to maintain finish on magnesium, especially valve covers?

the kid next door and $10
When not in use for, keep stored in a vacuum bag and then a quick buff when needed

A polished finish just takes work DOW7 just keep it oiled I’ve heard people powder coat their magnesium with decent results but for me why have MAG if you’re going to hide it!

they have dow 7 coating now and I want to keep it looking good. Car was in trailer for one week and they started to fuzz up. I wiped them down with wd40 and it got them back to good and seemed to remove the texture roughness from the fuzz(I call it). dehumidifier is in trailers future.

clear powder coating

with brand new mag you can get away with PC, but old mag (because the corrorsion is already deep)you take a chance of them gassing off and bubbling the clear at 325* temp. I think Gibbs brand would be a better choice then WD40 on the Dow7. I don't like Gibbs on polished mag as it dulls the shine that makes the mag look so good, at that point it looks like polished aluminum

I coat my hat in ATF if my car is going to be in the trailer for any length of time. In my shop I keep it clean with a light coating of ATF. I use GIBBS also when I have it
