Sounds like quite a ride. I've enjoyed following your progress and am glad you and the car both recovered  :D.

Woo hoo, I like it  8)!

Made 2 test hits last night.........my car is wanting a considerable amount of preload in the R/R.  :P   Rear end appears (measured) to be square with chassis and we started testing with the car 19 lbs heavy on the R/R. Also added 1 psi extra to the R/R for the second hit, which was better than the first. Track had teeth like a bull shark. I'm really thinking the converter needs a major adjustment to soften the hit.

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: How to properly launch a FED?

When I had the ZZ-4 pump gas engine in the dragster it picked the front wheels up about 3 in. and moved them over to the right just a little, maybe 3-4 in. (still easily driveable) E.T. 5.90 @117. With 2 1/2 times the HP, the problem is much worse  :o. We only made one very tentative hit before raining out.  Checking the tire diameter, I found almost 1/2 in difference in circumference, which equalized by dropping the pressure by 1 psi. Looking forward to this weekend, hoping for more tuning opportunities. Also lowered the wheelie bar (92" long from axle centerline) to 3". Getting the launch dialed in seems like a common thing with these traction monsters. Next time out, it's spin or bleed.

Installed a new A/C in the trailer today and a new vent over the generator. Finally got the Onan running sweet  :D (and they say you cant work on the Onan carbs) I guess the Interweb carb pros aren't racers LOL. Got the new awning material and installed it last week. SOooo, only 2 months late we're ready to test.

Supercat, we're in Jasper, Al. Wish I was in Calif. lots of good racing there.

I had a longggg day yesterday. Went to Commerce, Ga and watched the big boys run. Geez, those things are too fast. More high tech stuff than the space shuttle. Came home after a 15 hr day with my tail feathers dragging.

Nothing today. Spent 14 hours yesterday straightening up her room.  Ok I was trying to make room for me to work on the car some. I think it should be a law that all houses come with a garage thats equal to or bigger than the house. How do they expect someone to get a topf fuel car in to a 22' garage?
I love it when a man has his priorities in order  8)

Well, I didn't make any money today but I saved some. Fabbed up a blower belt guard out of some 1/8" moly plate with some moly tube for standoffs. Similar ones from Good Vibes Racing are $139 plus shipping. My plasma cutter needs a new tip. Man what a struggle  :P. There's another pound or so including bolts.

Alan that is like super light ! How did you get it so light !
It has a Milodon aluminum block and early Dart heads.

Yesterday we sat her on the scales. Minus the aluminum (short) body panels, (maybe what 20 lbs) and the fire bottle it weighed in at 1,401 with me in it (no suit or helmet) It's 12 lbs heavy on the R/R.

Welcome from Alabama. If you drive one, you're ruined for life.

I always put customer projects ahead of my own....After a couple of weeks (must have been shipped by mule train) I received my new CVR oil pump and pickup. Actually the pickup was the delaying factor. Installed the new parts and fired er' up.  75 psi idling cold 65 hot (with 50w Kendall) that's more like it! Hope to test in a few days. If sound counts, it's a Mighty Mouse. :D
