I'm trying to come up with an approx. weight to help pick a gear for my car. I have a Spitzer 4 link Altered. It looks like it's from the mid early 90's. Has a Fabricated rear housing, 4wheel brakes and will have an all iron small block. It looks like they made a lot of these cars and I was thinking someone or three has one that they have weighed.

My BBC /Blown weights 2050 without me. My guess yours would be in the 1950-2000 range.

I have an early nineties spitzer four link.... Just finished a complete ground up rebuild.... Fiat body with blown KB hemi.... 1990lbs without me... Just scaled it yesterday good luck

Mine is not a Spitzer but it weighs 1650 with me in it full of fuel and ready to run. It is a 125" Four link with brakes on all four wheels and large radiator. SBC with aluminum heads and Iron Eagle block. 1900+ Lbs for car only sounds like a lot even with a big block.

Was reading thread because curiuos thing. Man I never would have thought a altered would weigh 2000 lbs.Our funnycar was only 1948 with 175 lbs driver.# disc clutch,3 speed lenco, fiberglass body, computer, dual mags ,2 fire bottles front brakes ,14-71 , aluminum hat and Im sure few thing that could have weighed less but I could not get more holes in them.

I weighed my car again and it was 1795 with me in it! ouch! I thought it was 1650. Not sure where I picked up all that weight. I guess I need to skip a taco. LOL.

if 145 lbs of tacos Im pretty sure it will be gone soon! especailly if from crapo bell. Dang thats .15 in 1/4

Now that I'm over 50 and food is high on my short list of enjoyment's. If they're real Taco's and not crapo bell taco's they might be worth the weight.
