Altereds / Re: Wheelie bar length?

Mine's around 65", i like the look of a longer bar. it's very stout, and works ok.  I race with a few cars that are under 2', and they work for their combo.  Most are rigid bars, but a few have spring loaded bars.

Clear as mud? Sorry.

I wear a 52 jacket, 6', 283#.  I have been in 22 inch cars that i couldn't drive.  My car is 19 1/2 and i drive it fine.

Put a /20 suit on, and climb in, that's really the only way i've found to be sure.

Headed out Saturday.

First pull went about 10 inches and lit the tires.  Bar to high, and dead hooked on a tight track.

Second pull went to 1000 feet. 7.79/131.  but 4.806/145.5 at the split.  Works out to a 7.48'ish

Third pull was clean, but i slowed it down to much, 7.89/169 (dead rich after another pulley swap to slow it down)

Jet area is now 0.017016. Had an 80 main (no HS). 6.67gpm pump. plugs are dead cold, car ran GREAT. New blower ended up 10 under, making 13.5-14#s.

Plugs in picture have 3 hits on them. Oil is clean, and motor is happy. Looking forward to ANRA (Famoso) November 8-10.

Wow that looks great.  How far out is your motor? 45-50?

I would hold it out to 1000’

It would be a better heat reading huh.

I'll pay attention to make sure it doesn't lay over until then. :)

Thanks guys. The plan for Saturday is to run it 1:1, and tune for 15# of air. First pass will be in to high gear, and click it off to check the tune up.

Yup Bruce, i'm not going to keep super tight strips in this thing just for that reason.

I've updated my blower. My Mooneyham had been maintained but wasn't ever restripped. It was very loose. At 25 over it would make 16-17#s max.

My new Littlefield is nice & tight (brand new). On my old combo, about 10% over was 14#s. I'm thinking starting this blower at 1:1 or even a few under to get the feel of it.

Is there a general consensus on how much a new blower pics up?

Mathmatically, 1:1 should be 14psi or so (387" sbc)

Agreed. I really don't care where i park.  I have transportation.  My car doesn't mind.  it's all pretty flat (for jacks).

Now there is no incentive to buy early though. we'll discuss it and we might show up. it's been a couple years since we chose to run the MM.  It's fun, it's an experience for sure.  But it's a lot of time off work, and a lot of money.

Famoso is changing how we park for the March Meet.  This is from their page.

PIT PARKING – NEW PARKING POLICY FOR 2020! Pit parking for the 2020 Good Vibrations Motorsports March Meet will be first come first serve for pit spots. If you wish to park with your group please arrive with your group. For example: if you purchase 4 pit spots, all 4 competition vehicles must be present to receive the 4 spots. It is no longer required to purchase race entries at the same time, however it is required that you arrive as a group to park as a group. The earlier you arrive the better parking spot or spots you will receive. REMINDER parking begins Tuesday March 3rd, 2020 at 12 Noon!
