Well tri drive worked fine yesterday. It was about only xxxx thing that did work. Oh well maybe in two weeks.

Thanks. Will have to tell wife about patients joke. As for time I have plenty if stay up till 2 ans 3 am working in shop counts.LOL Only place I loose total track of time is working on mill or lathe.

« on: May 28, 2023, 07:56:22 AM »I made a similar right angle mag drive to clear my inline crossflow head. I used two Boston bevel gears (part # HLK-101Y).
Cool deal when you can make it work and using old parts from soething just adds another level of cool.
Thanks guys. It turned out pretty well. Like most projects I found 4 or 5 things I will do differently next time. Having two more sets of gears I will probably being doing another later.

Well I broke the belt drive sytem last time out. So got wild hiar to build something little stouter. About $150 bucks and ungodly mount of hours on mill and lathe. I have a Gear driven(motorcycle gears) mag,fuel pump and vacuum pump drive, Seems wot work great.only a few pass' will tell the story. Bad thing is I have found bunch of ways to improve and build easier. The fact the gears I bought came in set of 3 and none same size so bought two set and now have two more sets of gears. Not immidiate plan but a new improved version is to follow.

Well in the past week and a half. I made a new gear drive to run mag with fuel pump on opposite side and vacuum pump drive. All running off cam. Changed steering to rack and pinion. Used most of the drag link in the original pos. except where it turns into chassis to pass thru the tank(new welding project dirt aluminum) and mounted R&P up mid way to allow new tank to be as far foward as possible. So other than 40 to 60 hour maching gear drive and another 20 plus on rack and pinion and new tank. Have not really done anything.LMAO

On my FEd I have a battery in nose, switch just in front of the engine, and push/pull will be at the rear if I get it hooked up.LOL I have got to do it and will need a switch with terminal's for mag also,

Dot5 in every system I do from start. Now on street stuff, I run whatever came in it or manufacture recommendations. All of my Harleys and race cars have always been dot5.
