Title: Fuel Hose Type
Post by: opa1 on June 26, 2018, 07:31:50 AM
I'm having to run a flex type hose for my methanol fuel system. I'll be using 12AN hose from tank to pump. I can use stainless or the Phenix nylon braided hose. Is there any advantage of either? I would think the phenix would be a little lighter and somewhat more flexible. Thoughts?

Should make no difference. While the nylon braided lines can be more flexible, you'll want to run them so there is no way to kink or collapse which would be devastating.

More importantly, use a Teflon lined hose. The alcohol will not dissolve the interior wall. Just be careful cutting the hose as the Teflon may distort.

The Phenix hose is CPE inner core. (chlorinated polyethylene). Looks like the stainless is PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). I guess both will work?
