1994 we didnt have the (personal) rule, i know you armed the chute, baby, but show me the flag in my face before i stage.  :o

So after ripping the chute lever off the car i went for the brakes. And bounced and chirped all the way out into the sand pit at about 125.

Had roll cage blue smeared all over my brand new white simpson helmet. That pretty much ended that weekend.

Definitely was hard on the brake that got it going.

Its basically STP...  an oil additive.  I am unfamiliar with the brand so i couldnt say how good it is..

Ages ago, when gas was 14 cents a gallon...  oil was oil and gas was gas (period).

People started adding stuff (STUFF) being everything we take for granted today. Like multi weight high temp detergent etc etc.

Sometimes people think their oil or fuel needs more stuff, and you can buy more stuff... most isnt snake oil.  The stuff really does work. Caveat: stuff is often a little goes a long way and afterwards returns diminish or make things worse.

Example. 1 can of stuff to 7 qts oil are fine.

12 cans to a half quart of oil... boom.  Well boom or call it full synthetic and charge triple for it. 😁

I worked for a place that did custom oil and fuel blending for a while. They had giant steam heated vats for heating the oil prior to adding stuff.

They would blend and ship in tank trucks or package qts or gallons and private label. Box truck ship.

They were in business over a 100 years. Could longer compete with big box corp stuff.

Yes old post, but very interesting to me and i do have an opinion... :P

Your short wheel base absolutely runs as straight as a long wheelbase. Thats until it doesnt.

All things equal, the longer car has an advantage in staying straight and in recovering when that is even possible.

All spinouts are different but consider this with me for a math moment.

If a short car and a long car both kick out 2 feet at the back, that maybe 5 degrees on the short car but only 3 degrees on the longer car.

Longer car would be easier to control and recover from this perspective.

Equally its moment of inertia in the yaw rate would be less.

Thats from the perspective of how much the rear end snapped out.

Now if both cars rotated 45 degrees (a ridiculous amount), i cant really say either would be recoverable... maybe, maybe not. Though i am positive i'd rather that extra 2 feet of crumple to bleed off energy.  :o
