For the record.  I called DJ Safety yesterday to get a price on a Coldfire system and the guy there said that they have no systems available at this time because they lost their cylinder supplier. He said that it has been a couple of weeks since this happened and he had no idea when systems would available again. I will have to do some research to see what other companies sell the Coldfire systems.

Thanks guys for the info. Do you know if it is legal to paint the bottles, obviously leaving all sticker information exposed.
Glen, what agent are you using?

I am looking to purchase a (2) 10# fire suppression system for my Blown FED and have some questions.
What agent are you guys using? FE36, Halon 1301, Novec 1230 or a Foam agent.
I realize that a foam agent would be messier to clean up but my concern is, does a gas agent work in an open cockpit car?
Is there a particular agent that is mandatory for a FED ?
Are steel lines mandatory?  Are aluminum lines safe ?
I have a tendency to over think things but considering the importance of the subject and the expense I want to do it right the first time.
I respect and appreciate all feed back.

Going to Norwalk this weekend. While I am there I will check out the top fuel burst panels and take some measurements. Thanks....

Appreciate the feed back dreracer and respect your experience. I was at Bowling Green last weekend and spoke to a guy from Good Vibrations and he showed a conversion kit but the bolt pattern on it looked a lot wider than mine. My two pop off bolts are 1-1/2" apart center to center. Do you know who sells a conversion burst panel kit for my current Weiand manifold ?

Front Engine Dragsters / Blower manifold question

Building a new King Chassis 160" fed. Mild 427 BBC, 10.5 : 1 compression, Dyers Blower with a new Hilborn 4 port injection system. This digger is just for fun and do not plan on running any particular class or getting into any competition racing. Those days are past me now. My current blower manifold has the spring type pop off plate at the rear. Keeping in mind that I do not plan on rotating the earth with this set up, do you see any issues running this manifold or do I need to run a burst panel manifold. I appreciate any input.

Mark Williams also suggests that you have between 1/8" to 3/16" of end play.

Looks like a nice solid piece. Good luck with the project.

I suggest that you put the trans brake button on the steering wheel like most of the other cars. Just because you are using a hand brake does not change the way that a trans brake works. You would stage the car, while holding back on the brake handle, press the trans brake button, let go of the brake handle, watch the tree and prepare to launch the car. A foot button would work but I believe your thumb reaction is quicker then your foot reaction and therefore would give you a quicker and more consistent reaction times.
I just got my King Chassis FED last weekend and I have to admit that I also sat in mine and made engine noises. I am also running a hand brake. It will be a blown alcohol injected 427 big block. Good luck on your build.

Great looking digger Voxnut. After seeing some of King Chassis' cars (including yours) I pulled the trigger....Brian is about halfway finished on my new chassis.  I can't wait to get it.

Hey Up in Smoke, any chance that you could post some pictures of your hinged top along with the pull pins?
