You do have a tow vehicle to tow you to the lanes and back up the return road, yes?

Front Engine Dragsters / water or not
« on: April 02, 2019, 01:01:08 PM »
Hey guys, hopefully you can help me settle a dispute on the topic of water or no water in a injected methanol FED with a cast iron Pontiac factory block. I was told that if it is a factory cast iron block that you MUST run water. True? The block has
"hard blok" in it and the heads are Edelbrock aluminum. If it has to have water, does it have to have a radiator? Or can it simply circulate through the engine without one? I just don't see many FEDs running water and radiators unless they are running race gas.

For those of you who are interested; the past amendments have been combined and integrated into one package. One change of note based upon a controversy at last year's CHRR is that nitro is no longer permitted in the NE or Gasser classes.

What was the controversy with nitro? Just curious.

Reaction times are extremely important, but how can they help your ETs?

My 190" FED fits in a 24' V-nose trailer with the chute backed in to the V. The golf cart fits in also!  8)

I just had my FED re cert done last night at my house in Lakeside (near San Diego). $235.Quick and easy but mine just expired a couple months ago. I don't think the engine has to be in it. NHRA Chris Forsyth did the inspection.

So if you wire two twelves in series, can your ignition, water pump, etc. handle 24 volts?

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: vac pump or puke tank?
« on: August 03, 2018, 03:18:34 PM »
Thanks guys! I appreciate the info. So I think that I will run the GZ Motorsports vac pump setup (attached to one valve cover) that sends the exhaust from the pump into their breather tank (approximately 30 oz).  It looks like quality stuff.

Front Engine Dragsters / vac pump or puke tank?
« on: July 31, 2018, 10:15:52 AM »
I know that evac pump kits have been discussed before, but I can't seem to find in the NHRA rulebook where puke tanks are mandated for specific FEDs. I have a 190" alky FED (no blower) with Ron's injection on a 7.50 cert chassis and 428 Pontiac.  If it isn't required to have the a hose coming off each valve cover going into a large puke tank, I will just run a evac pump off one valve cover and a breather tank. I hope to run NE3 or NE2 at some point. Any help with the rules here will be appreciated!

I have a remote System 1, I like it a lot.

and yes I have a belt guard (not pictured)  to protect the lines.

Glenn, does your frame rail cross right in front of the oil filter mount holes? I'm A newbie and running a Pontiac also.
