Im in the process of restoring a Buddy Warren 1974 R.E.D that is a 230inch car. It last ran in 1986 with Max Kern as the shoe. Tubes were bent up on the rear section so I put that bad boy on the jig table and back halved it. The tubing was .049 wall so I stepped it up to .058. After rebuilding the rear, I added helmet bars to the cage and put a rack up front.

Went to the valley Sunday with my son's car to break in new motor . Switched to a 16 volt batterie and had a couple of issues . You are supposed to charge a new 16 volt for 24 hours we did not and it kept loosing power durring a run . Finally got a decent charge on it and went 7.40 at 180

Why does the charge level effect the run time? Are you running a coil with an ignition box? Nice car.

Yes Glen We use a 7al3 ignition ,water pump ,fan , fuel pump . What I think happend is the voltage would drop and the ign. box and fuel pump would not work properly .

Went to New England Dragway last weekend on Thursday and Friday for the National event .I helped Wayne Hoffman out with his top dragster . We qualifyed 3rd at 6.41 . Did any of you guy's go ? If you stand at the fence right by the starting line you are about only 15 feet away from the cars . very entertaining .
