Update from driver..... So we hadn't had the dragster out since Bowling Green HHR. I was excited to get back into the car and see what she would do since we ran one of our best numbers at HHR. Little did I know that Dad had other plans for the evening. I thought it was going to be a test night... oh no... He wanted to play with the Nitro. (I was a little unhappy at first!) The first fire was fun- the smell was overwhelming. We had people coming over asking if we were running nitro... Dad's response was a big "YES!" The first pass went well until... one of the velocity stacks was wavering in the wind and hit me in the face shield. I tried to catch it with no luck. The second and third pass were smooth as well. Ran a 5.90, 5.91, 5.94 not running a full eighth consectutively. Overall it was a fun night- we did not hurt anything nor did we change anything on our tune up.
If all goes as planned, we will be playing with Nitro again in Muncie on September the 7th.

Yes it does, takes ;D 3 football fields and two monkeys, ??? the car  is a 232 inch wheel base. The chassis is a ex top fuel out of Mass., (I think) build by “Hauling Chassis.

It was updated by SMRacing with the help from the great one :o :o :o :o :o Rooman

Monkeys are for pick the front end up  in the pits and loading and unloading the car 8) 8) 8) 8)

We got the itch to try some nito. I was only able to get 66 oz of the stuff. I mixed it with 4 gallons.  After 4 runs testing last night  I drained the fuel system and used the 11. % (BV) mix. It took a few seconds and the engine changed it's tone. We made two runs with the mix and picked up everywhere. I had left my Race Air at the shop so I can't say what the conditions were but it had been 85+ and humid. Our 60' improved from 1.13 to 1.09, Et from 5.23 to 5.11 and MPH picked up about 1 to 136. I ran a 78 in the main bypass with no high speed , 14as nozzles, didn't see more than 65psi in the fuel system. I'm suspecting the Waterman 400 might be an issue.

Run #2 with mixed fuel.
1.0989 - 60'
3.2718 -330'
4.7849 -594' et
5.1160 -660' et
135.94 - mph

Runs were made with Hoosier 12 x 31 JR fuel tire. I am real sure my old Goodyear 2585s would be faster but I am saving them for our last scheduled race, September 7th.

George It seem's like it helped quite a bit considering it was so humid ! After the Hot Rod National's I would like to test with a small amount of nitro or some m5 . Thank's for sharing your information with us.

We tried M5 last year and didn't see any difference. I was pleasantly surprised with the results of our testing. September 7th we will step it up  a bit more but not over 20 %.

Yeah... that's what the 98% guys always say  :-)
Good luck and keep us posted, I'm also tempted to try it some day.

Actually I am looking to run 4.99 or so. I don't need to go any quicker . So 5% more should be plenty. I'm betting what I have tests below 10 %.

George I think you are right about the tires . That hoosier tire is heavy about 32 lbs . I put the Hoosier 12x33's on mine only 28 lbs and I think they will be ok
