New tri drive for FED
« on: May 24, 2023, 10:46:23 PM »
Well I broke the  belt drive sytem last time out. So got wild hiar to build something little stouter. About $150 bucks and ungodly mount of hours on mill and lathe. I have a Gear driven(motorcycle gears) mag, fuel pump and vacuum pump drive, Seems wot work great.only a few pass' will tell the story. Bad thing is I have found bunch of ways to improve and build easier. The fact the gears I bought came in set of 3 and none same size so bought two set and now have two more sets of gears. Not immidiate plan but a new improved version is to follow.

I made a similar right angle mag drive to clear my inline crossflow head. I used two Boston bevel gears (part # HLK-101Y).

Cool deal when you can make it work and using old parts from soething just adds another level of cool.

Thanks  guys. It turned out pretty well. Like most projects  I found 4 or 5 things I will do differently next time. Having two more sets of gears I will probably being doing another later.
