chute sizing
« on: June 06, 2022, 11:36:45 AM »
Ok going to get new smaller chutes. Well one for car and one for quick change out. I have two 12' chutes off TA cars.Looking at difference in 420 and 430 chutes and with the weight of car maybe even going down to 410 chute.

Any input on sizing would be great. Have checked charts so thats covered. Anyone lknow the difference in them as far as hit and weight. While weight is not the only factor if I can go one step more for very little weight penality. All who have read my stuff know I would drill holes in tires if they would still get me down track anc ut weight,so it does matter. Just not the only factor. We all know feds are normally lighter than cushy four-link RED built for candya$$'s that are affraid to ride whole 1/4 with few bumps.

As for hit I am not overly concerned as long as it opens quick and will save my a$$ in an oh shyt situation.LOL

I have a chute that I bought knowing noting about it. When I sent it to Stroud I was told it was a 430 chute and was too big for my car weight and speed (slow, not fast). It's currently set up to be launched but Stroud would sell the parts to convert it to pilot chute for about $210, including a new chute pack. Send me a PM if you're at all interested.

Interested in chute . I think is it 10' or 12'. Been trying to make heads or tails out of sizing thing. I know mine needds 420. Also know I want a 10' as I have two 12' chutes. Same deal they are too big for this car worked fine at 250 with 2000#,But 190 at 1700 is different deal.LOL

I sent an e-mail with description and what I know about the chute, along with a couple photos. Let me know if you don't get the message for some reason and I'll try something else.

Thanks.
