Power glide pumping fluid from vent

<< < (2/3) > >>

Well trans came apart and pump gasket was again blown out. It is a new older hughes trans. It appears to be a JW case. JW said a paper gasket will not work and they sold my cousin a non blow gasket. Trans is reassembled and will be put back in tomorrow or next day. Will reply with results. And yes gasket was much better than a paper gasket...Thanks to all that answered

Hope it takes care of the issue.

How much line pressure? i've seen over 275 and not have a gasket problem. As a matter of fact, i've never seen a gasket problem.

hemidakota:
The gasket was blown at pressure port and fluid went around pump o-ring to vent port and blew gasket in is how it was venting. Old gasket was .040" and new gasket was .140". Will start it tonight and double check it. Is a crazy deal.

gregm784:
In doing that you just increased your end play in your trans .100" too.  I'm not a trans guy, not sure what that will affect.
