These V8 minded guys...???  All good Paul, thanks for the chuckle.

I'm passionate for the harmony and melody of six-bangers. Naturally aspirated diesels sound amazing too, but they're rare these days...

Actually, since two pistons arrive at TDC at the same time you could just custom grind a camshaft so that the valves on the two paired cylinders (i.e., 16, 52, 34) actuate in unison you would achieve the same effect as a flat plane crank in a V8.
