 Sounds like a v8  :o

It absolutly sounds like a v8.

I know nothing about this engine
The 3.3L powerplant has a 4.125-inch bore and 3.750-inch stroke, and is paired with a 4:71 high-helix blower (making 48 lbs. of boost at 8,000 RPM), dual 7-amp magnetos, and a 28 GPM Hilborn fuel pump delivering nitro via five nozzles per cylinder, all creating over 3,000 horsepower.

When you watch the launch there is flame on both sides, like a V8?

I'd seen a red vw powered on the cable show Pass Time maybe last year.  If I remember it ran in the 6s for 1/4 mile.   I'm not sure if it was the same red as in this article...... hard to believe there's two of those 4 cyl. out there.  That's bad little motor.
