New old guy 61 y.o. Allan Faulkner, Jasper, AL. Retired USAF. Current car is a 186" FED built by Foy Gilmore in the late 90s. Have a blown SBC almost ready to drop in and a new 200" chassis under construction. Glad to see this forum getting going, just found it yesterday on the HAMB.

Hi Allan.  This is the other Alan here.  Two dragsters, you must be one of those overachievers : )  If the blown sbc is for the 186, you have something different in mind for the 200?  Nothing against sbc, they're actually my favorite engine, 327 to be exact.  But I tripped over a ford flathead in 1998 and been hooked on them ever since.

To Denver flatheader, I tripped over a flathead the other day too, in my shop. It was a "good deal" and I'm a sucker for those. Not sure if I'll get around to running it but ya never know.... :P

To AF 150, not sure about Bowling Green. I'll probably come but not sure if I'll spend the necessary bucks to run my car. Thats why I'm building the new chassis it will cert faster than 7.50 can't remember the spec 2.4b i think.  Thanks to all for the warm welcome.

Allan - I think everyone should have at least one flathead in their garage.  I made the mistake of putting two in the backyard shed together, they mated and now I have a shed full : )   DF

:o  Geez, I've got a visual of a bunch of baby flatheads. Or are they all born full grown?  Either way, cool. I may need some help one of these days but right now I have too much invested in t hese Chebby engines to start on a new learning curve and parts inventory. Maybe I'll just build a 120 inch chassis to accomodate the FH and help someone else with a start toward their dream ride.
