New front half
« on: October 01, 2015, 05:42:41 AM »
Going to be cutting the front half off of the car soon as after last weekend it is a little bent up. I know I will be needing to have a custom front axle bent as my old front axle was a narrowed MW that I made into a 2-piece and I want a one piece axle. The axle is not the reason the crash happened but I didn't like the way it performed it flexed at the spice point. Just looking for ideas on uprights and diagonal supports to keep the frame from flexing.

I went for a drive today to Boise and was able to check out a really nice car
I was told Roo built this one

Here is a Parks car that has the diagonal going the opposite direction that looks like a slip joint? I saw this one at our June race

Paul,
yep, Kenny's is one of mine. Originally built for Jimmy Gravitt out of Illinois some time ago. My newer cars have the rails sleeved at the uprights and generally the motor is a little further out.
The N & P car is also a little older as it is their earlier high seat design.

Roo
Yeah, I am from the south--any further south and I would have been a bloody penguin.

I do like the clean look of your chassis very sanitary! I am going to start cutting my front half off soon, going to maintain my 200" WB and engine position out 42"
